The Wrangell Mountains Center hosted 3 days of grassroots storytelling that summer, featuring local and visiting storytellers. In this series we explore some of the magic of that in-person event.

This season’s podcasts feature handpicked stories from our 2022 Storytelling Festival in McCarthy-Kennecott. This episode features one story from The Old Hardware Store, our original storytelling venue, and another story from our outdoor venue on McCarthy’s West Side, the Glacier View Campground. Thanks to our partners Gina and Nik Merlino and McCarthy River Tours for supplying the great outdoor space and bonfire! Both stories tell of encounters with lions and gorillas and bears - oh my!!
